About the journal

Kalahari Pan Journal is an independent, non-commercial record of wildlife in the Kalahari basin. It gathers photographs that their authors released under free licences, arranges them by place and season, and publishes them with full credit.

We care less about the perfect portrait than about circumstance: where an animal was, why it was there, and what the dry season was doing to the land around it. That is why the archive is organised by place first and species second.

There is no advertising and no tracking of any kind. Hosting is paid for privately. If you photograph in the region and want to contribute under a free licence, please write to us.
